3M™ 69 glass cloth electrical tape is a strong, abrasion and flame-resistant woven glass cloth tape with a high temperature thermosetting silicone adhesive used for electrical insulating and holding applications involving heavy gauge wire and extreme temperatures. Electrical glass cloth tape works well in the aerospace and electrical industries for applications where heavy loads and high heat cause breakdowns, use for high temperature cable harnessing and connection insulating applications. Solvent and corrosion-resistant, designed for 600 VAC dry location motor and transformer applications with and without varnish coating, works well as outer wrap for bobbin wound coils, banding arbor wound coils, lead pad hold down, end turn, lead anchor, connections and bundling heavy gauge magnet wire. Resists shrinking, rotting and burning, use as a heat stable insulation for furnace and oven controls, motor leads and switches. UL Recognized, 200 deg C/392 deg F temperature rating, ideal for splicing SF and SFF appliance wire rated for 302 deg F and 356 deg F high temperature environments. Use for securing high temperature, non-PSA insulation (such as asbestos and glass) in high temperature areas. Edge and tear-resistant, ideal for splicing silicone covered glass wire where splices require more abrasion resistance and mechanical strength than can be provided by silicone tapes. Meets UL 510 flame retardant requirements. Thermoset adhesive is aggressive and suited for adhering to magnet wire without corrosion.
