3M™ 1205 polyimide film electrical tape is puncture-resistant, thin polyimide film with a solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive for insulating applications requiring a thin tape with high temperature resistance and high dielectric strength. Use polyimide tape with solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive where a lesser temperature tolerance is required or for applications where oils are present. Adhesive does not corrode magnet wire in the presence of current or humidity, widely used as electrical insulation for transformers, motors, coils, capacitors and frequency conversion power supplies. Polyimide tape has the capability to maintain its physical, electrical and mechanical properties across a large temperature range and provides excellent insulation and protection to electrical wiring, use to wrap and harness electrical wires and cables in the automotive, aerospace and industrial machine industries. Highly conformable and tear-resistant, use polyimide film electrical tape in the electrical and electronics industry to anchor terminal boards and leads. Works well in the electronics industry to temporarily secure and mask components during the wave solder or solder dip process, mask circuit boards to shield gold fingers from the solder material and prevent unwanted electrical connections. Meets flame retardant requirements of UL510.
