3M™ 44HT composite film electrical tape is a strong, conformable polyester web reinforced film with a high tack thermosetting rubber adhesive used for electrical insulating applications requiring greater puncture resistance and quick holding power. Excellent for general purpose insulation, anchoring and banding in motors and transformers where dimensional restrictions limit insulation build-up requiring a thin insulation tape. Thermoset rubber adhesive resists many chemicals and common industry varnish solvents, use for stick wound coils/transformers and in bobbin wound coils for banding, anchoring and insulating. UL recognized, 130 deg C/266 deg F temperature rating, ideal for protecting start wires, leads, terminal strips, insulation paper and end turns and connections in motors and transformers. Reinforced polyester film also works well as a slot cell edging tape for transformers and motors, providing reinforcement and strengthening of edges of slot insulation. Thermoset adhesive is aggressive and suited for adhering to oily magnet wire without corrosion.
