3M™ 79 glass cloth electrical tape is a strong, abrasion-resistant woven glass cloth tape with an electrical grade acrylic adhesive used for electrical insulating and holding applications involving heavy gauge wire and high temperatures. The acrylic adhesive resists solvents without thermosetting and provides excellent long term aging characteristics. Electrical glass cloth tape works well in the aerospace and electrical industries for applications where heavy loads and high heat cause breakdowns, use for general connection insulating and high temperature cable harnessing applications up to 311 deg F. Rated for 600 VAC dry locations, use for a variety of coil/transformer and motor applications, including outer wrap for bobbin wound coils, banding arbor wound coils, lead pad hold down, end turn and lead anchoring as well as connection insulating. Highly conformable with excellent mechanical strength, works well for electrical motor and generator binding.
